RARE SET OF 4 1ST EDITION 'GRAND PRIX' CHAIRS BY ARNE JACOBSEN FOR FRITZ HANSEN, 1959
RARE SET OF 4 1ST EDITION 'GRAND PRIX' CHAIRS BY ARNE JACOBSEN FOR FRITZ HANSEN, 1959
Exceptional set of 4 ‘Grand Prix’ chairs designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen in 1957. During that year, the chair was displayed at the Triennale in Milan where it received the Grand Prix, the finest distinction of the exhibition. These chairs are actually first editions made of beech wood with a rare and original brown fabric. The first edition models can be recognized by the four legs which are mounted separately on the bottom of the shell and with the FH logo stamped. On top of that, these came with the original invoice from 1959 (!) to confirm this and remain in very good original condition with solid back supports. Great find and true collector’s items.
Price per chair. Also sold per pair.
