UNIQUE PAIR OF 'BACHELOR' CHAIRS BY VERNER PANTON FOR FRITZ HANSEN, 1971
UNIQUE PAIR OF 'BACHELOR' CHAIRS BY VERNER PANTON FOR FRITZ HANSEN, 1971
Unique pair of ‘Bachelor’ chairs designed by Verner Panton for Fritz Hansen in 1953. These examples were bought around 1971 together with a rare matching table which still has the label. The chairs have a signature minimalist tubular steel frame and initially came with brown suede leather covers. However, the former owner who bought these chairs new and was also an artist named Lode Van Muylder, decided to make new wooden seats with a great two-color tone. One original suede cover is still available so these chairs can be reupholstered on request but I decided to keep them like this for now because they simply look fantastic. Rare matching coffee table also available.
