Walnut Coffee Table with Ceramic Tile by Jos De Mey for Van Den Berghe-Pauvers, 1960s
Unique coffee table designed by Jos De Mey for Van Den Berghe-Pauvers in the early 1960s. Made of walnut with a beautiful ceramic tile on top. It also has a magazine rack underneath and a hidden drawer on one side. Interesting and decorative piece in very nice original condition with a nice patina and some normal age-related traces of use as seen on the pictures.
Location: Warehouse (by appointment)
Jos De Mey (1928-2007) attended the Municipal Higher Institute of Architecture in Ghent, with none other than Gaston Eysselinck as his teacher. In the 1950s, De Mey himself became known as one of the best Belgian furniture designers, and rightly so.
